Homeless Shelter- Food Drive

Triveni members have long felt the need to give back to the local community. This year, Triveni has committed to providing one meal a month to Cincinnati-based Lighthouse Youth Services, a shelter for children and youth experiencing homelessness, trauma and abuse.

We provide this in the form of either a monetary donation, meal drop off, or personally serving a  meal to the residents of the shelter. Although all kinds of donations are welcome, our hope is that as far as possible Triveni members will personally serve the meal, and nourish their own hearts with fulfilling interactions with the young people and staff at Lighthouse.

Where to donate

Lighthouse Mecum House

How to donate

Ideally  a group of 2-4 families or a Triveni Pariwar group would pool resources and time.

  • Monetary donation- Mail a check to the address above or donate online on their website at www.lys.org . The suggested collective amount for a group of Triveni families is $150 to $200. We request that you notify Diptee or Sandip Vaidya when you do this for Triveni records. You may also drop off the check or money with them to give to the shelter.

  • Drop off a home cooked meal at the shelter.

  • Cook a meal at home or at the shelter with supplies and ingredients that you have bought, and help the staff to serve the meal as well. (Please take a group photo and share with Diptee or Sandip).

  • There are between 15 to 25 children and youth in the shelter at a time. Please see this pdf document for guidelines. (Link to pdf file)
