Welcome to Triveni Mitra Mandal
Triveni Mitra Mandal of Greater Cincinnati is an organization of the Maharashtrian community in the Cincinnati and Dayton areas of the state of Ohio in the United States. The Mandal is organized to promote social interaction among the residents. We achieve this by organizing various cultural events and initiatives. We strive to educate the children of its members about the cultural heritage of India, and of Maharashtra in particular. We also attempt to familiarize Americans about the culture of Maharashtra. The Mandal also encourages its members to understand and appreciate American culture and contribute to the social activities of American society.
Initiatives
Young girls from far rural areas of Maharashtra face enormous challenges in achieving their educational goals. At times they have to walk several kilometers to reach a school. Surprising but true, quite often they are deprived of education beyond primary schools due to poverty, lack of parents' support, safety concerns and social pressures.
Rachana Society for Social Reconstruction reaches out to thousands of girls across 300 villages. Rachana's goal is to to provide opportunity to the underprivileged girls to bring them in the mainstream of education. Hostel facility is run to provide conducive and safe environment for girls to continue their education uninterrupted up to 12th standard. To keep the girls at pace with modern education, Rachana also provides computer education and facilitates their bachelor's education with help from other organizations.
