Sankranti Celebration
This year, we were very fortunate to celebrate Sankranti on Jan
14. The venue for the event was at Ankur Gujrathi Samaj. The program
opened with the President's welcome address and formal introduction of the
committee for 2006. 

This was followed with a Fancy Dress Event for the tiny tots parading the runway. Around 30 children displayed their talent. We had a Tendulkar and Sehwag, and also a Gymnast, a cheerleader, an Indian prince and a princess and of course Shiva's Parvathi. The show stealer was the Mumbaicha Bhaajiwala with a cell phone. The kids enjoyed the show as much as the audience and the kids were thrilled to receive a Certificate of Appreciation and a Medal for all their efforts.

The youth represented themselves by singing Savarkar's Sagara Pran Talmala.

And of course for all the others there was an icebreaker game, followed by Antakshari and Charades.
And finally the Haldi Kunku for the ladies followed by sumptous prepared by the Uma Shah.
