Gudhi Padwa Celebration : A Day of Firsts

 Gudhi Padwa is upon us. It signifies the first month of the Hindu calendar and with the very first day of this month begins our New Year. During this day, in addition to all the festivities, a “Gudhi” (ancient flag hoisting) is erected to signify victory.
In bringing this traditional event, signifying a first, we at Triveni Mitra Mandal of Greater Cincinnati would like to usher it in with a historic first for our community. Yes, Triveni will be bringing to you the recently released block-buster comedy hit movie, “Navra Maaza Navsacha”. We have been very fortunate to procure this movie straight from the producer himself, Sachin Pilgaonkar, and we will be the very first to premier it in North America.
This movie has had a good run all over Maharashtra, and has set new box-office records. The movie features the likes of popularly known actors like Sachin, Supriya, Reema Lagu (Tu Tu Main Main; Hum Aapke Hain Kaun), Ashok Saraf (Hum Paanch), and Bollywood heavyweights such as Sonu Nigam, Johnny Lever, and many more. Also the subject and content of the movie is enjoyable to non-Maharashtrians too. And for those who don’t know Marathi, there are English subtitles as well.

So folks, here is an opportunity for you to enjoy the movie in a theatre-like ambiance, and for those with those precious bundles left in the care of our baby-sitters (free of charge). We will also be featuring a full course dinner for an extra charge .
All of this takes place on April the 1st, 2006 (Yes, April Fool’s day; and NO, this is not a joke). So mark you calendars on the first, for the firsts for our first and become a part of our history:
