Maharashtra Din Synopsis

Dear friends,

We thank you for attending and making successful our Maharashtra Din event. In the spirit of the event several people had worn traditional outfits and their enthusiasm made it even more fun. We would have to agree with Mai Marathi artists that the best outfit (traditional Marathi couple) was that of Mr. and Mrs. Kumthekar!!!!!

Event kicked off with snacks that included Bakarwadi from Chitale's made special for Triveni members!

From the very first "Naman', Mai Marathi program ROCKED!!! Program was conducted by artists Kiran Joglekar, Mahesh Lad, Prashant Gijre, Ravi Bhave, Ashish Chaughule, and Sachin Raje. Mai Marathi showcased folk music of Maharashtra…music that is rich, varied, and definitely Marathi. It was an explosive event and Triveni audience jammed to every song and beat!!

We also had our 1 st General Body Meeting, with the following being discussed and decided: 1) "Sangam" official name adopted for Triveni Mitra Mandal newsletter (Patrak). 2) Founding members and past committee members invited to form a team for study of a possible trustee option and review of constitution for any amendments that may be needed.

Last but not least, we had dinner that included PuraN PoLi, Vadah Pav, and Dahi Butti…..Yum!!!!
